Northern Ireland companies lift ‘Big Ticks’

 Seven companies in the Northern Ireland were awarded ‘Big Ticks’ at Business in the Community’s Regional Recognition Awards celebration event for outstanding achievement and commitment to responsible business practice.

Now in their 11th year, the Awards for Excellence reward companies across the UK with a coveted Big Tick for the positive impact their responsible business activities have in the marketplace, the workplace, the environment or in the community.

Companies that win a Big Tick embrace one of the biggest challenges for the UK today, the need to unlock talent to ensure future UK competitiveness.

The Prince's Ambassador Award 

 The Prince’s Ambassador Award recognises individuals whose leadership and personal commitment to responsible business practice have created a positive impact both inside their company and on wider society. The award is nominated by HRH The Prince of Wales and was awarded this year to Brian Ambrose of George Best Belfast City Airport for excellent leadership in corporate responsibility.

The Sieff Award

The M&S Sieff Award recognises leaders from civil society influencing change in Northern Ireland and this year’s award went to Joe McGuinness, Principal at St Matthew’s Primary and Mandy White, Principal of Knocknagoney Primary, both in East Belfast. Each school is engaged in an innovative Adopt a School pilot project, with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
