Andrew Cornish
Managing Director, Manchester Airport
Andrew Cornish is Managing Director of Manchester Airport, a trading company belonging to the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the owners of Nottingham East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside airports as well as MAN.
Manchester Airport employs approximately 2,500 staff and is responsible for the total operations and services at the Airport, as well as all the regulatory issues. Much of this activity is undertaken directly by the Airport Group, but the majority is undertaken by the other 246+ companies, plus 22,000 employees based at the airport. The Airport Group has the responsibility for the ‘management’ and coordination of all these third parties.
Andrew gained a BA in Economics at Essex University before joining Kodak on its marketing graduate programme in 1987. He moved to Stockholm as Kodak’s Nordic Marketing Director, later returning to England to head Kodak’s sales and marketing for the UK and Ireland and then worked in the Office of Kodak’s President in the USA. He returned to the UK to join the Unipart Group of Companies in 2000 to run its recently acquired Partco Group of Companies. Andrew then became Managing Director of Unipart (Mechanical Repair Division) before joining MAG in 2005.
