Following his graduation in Economics, Peter travelled extensively including spending a year in Turkey teaching English. He returned to the UK and took a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a teaching post a Poole Grammar School. Peter left the teaching profession after completing his probationary year and joined Ford Motor Company as an Employee Relations Officer at the Southampton Plant. He spent nine years with Ford in many different HR roles including periods at Dagenham and the R&D centre at Dunton.
In 1998 Peter left Ford to join British Aerospace Airbus at Bristol, where he was Head of Learning and Development. He then moved to Toulouse in 2000 to take the role of Global Head of Executive Development for Airbus. In the Summer of 2003 he returned to UK to take the post of HR Director of EADS Astrium - the UK space business of EADS ( the parent company of Airbus).
Peter lives in Colchester with his partner Sue, a midwife, and her two teenage children. Peter's interests include playing the guitar, all sports - especially skiing and mountain biking, and supporting Colchester United where he is a season ticket holder.
