Sexual Orientation
Employers need to understand the responsibilities and the opportunities associated with sexual orientation in the workplace.
On December 2, 2003 new legislation came into force making it unlawful to discriminate against any employee or worker on the basis of their Sexual Orientation. This legislation encompasses all aspects of employment culture from recruitment through to dismissal.
While BITC campaigns widely on diversity in the workplace, specialist support on issues around sexual orientation can be provided by Stonewall through their Diversity Champion programme.
Stonewall's Diversity Champions programme is the employers' forum on sexual orientation issues in the Workplace.
